Majority-Gate Logic Schemes Based on Magneto-Electric Devices


This invention provides various approaches to the implementation of majority logic by utilizing the non-volatile switching of magneto-electric devices. Integrated schemes for this logic are presented in which just a single device is needed to implement majority logic by applying multiple voltages to the active magneto-electric layer.

Voltage-controlled switching of magneto-electric layers allows switching to be achieved with less power consumed. Integration of multiple inputs into a single magneto-electric device simplifies circuit structure by reducing the number of devices needed for logic.
