A Novel Marker for Detection of Prostate Cancer
Myosine IC isoform A is overexpressed in prostate cancer tissues and metastatic cells. The monoclonal antibodies and PCR tools developed here detect overexpression.
In 2012 a novel isoform of myosine IC designated isoform A was discovered. Several years later tissue distribution studies discovered it was overexpressed in prostate cancer tissues and metastatic cells. Overexpression of isoform A can be detected at both the protein and RNA level. The tools developed by the inventors for expression detection include monoclonal antibodies and PCR.
